‘Koins for Kids’ fundraiser brings holiday joy to teens
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local organization is making sure teens have a great Christmas.
Rusty Mac’s Adopt A Teen program with the Carl Perkins Exchange Club in Jackson kicked off their second annual Koins for Kids fundraiser.
The event is set up in the former Toys R Us parking lot taking donations.
Program chair Rita McCaslin says last year, they raised over $20,000, and hope to exceed that amount this year.
There are 459 teenagers in the program. And she says the goal is to give each of them a gift for Christmas.
“These are teenagers that would not have anything under the tree otherwise,” McCaslin said. “They are still kids. Even though they look grown up, they are still kids and they still deserve to have a wonderful Christmas.”
