Police arrest 2 in Hardin Co. car burglaries

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — Savannah police have arrested two men in connection to a string of car burglaries. Police saw a vehicle Wednesday suspected in the burglaries and made a traffic stop on Pinhook Road, according to a release from the Savannah Police Department. Austin Blane Richardson, 18, of Savannah was arrested on four counts of burglary of a vehicle, according to the release. He also is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and fraudulent use of a debit card, the release states. Jemarrus Vontae Bailey, 25, of Savannah also was arrested in the traffic stop and charged with four counts of burglary of a vehicle and attempted burglary of a vehicle, according to the release. Bailey also is charged with three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, theft under $500 and making a false report, the release states. Both men were taken to the Hardin County Correctional Center. Police believe Richardson and Bailey both may be involved in other crimes in Hardin County and the Selmer area. Anyone with information about other possible crimes involving the men is asked to contact detectives at the Savannah Police Department, the Hardin County Sheriff‘s Office or the Selmer Police Department.
