JACKSON, Tenn. — Frightening accusations land a Jackson man behind bars and before a judge Friday. Donald Burt Carloss was charged with aggravated domestic assault and aggravated kidnapping in Jackson City Court. According to court documents, on Wednesday, April 15, Carloss assaulted his ex-wife at his home on Flagstone Drive in north Jackson. The affidavit said when the ex-wife refused Carloss’ sexual advances, he put her in a bear hug, took her into a bedroom, took her phone and handgun and forced her onto her knees. The woman told police Carloss then forced her onto her back, sat on top of her and put the gun in her mouth. According to the affidavits, he said, “If I can’t have you then nobody can.” She estimated Carloss kept the gun in her mouth for 30 seconds to a minute, then put the gun down and said he was “just kidding.” The woman was eventually allowed to leave the home, court papers said. Officers reported finding a cut on her lip and bruising to her arms and legs.
