Brownsville police chief to retire

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — The chief of police in Brownsville has announced that he will retire. Chris Lea has served six years as chief of police, previously having worked for the city and Haywood County, according to a release from the city. Lea has worked for the ambulance authority, post office, fire department and police department. “For the last 28 years, I have proudly served Brownsville, Haywood County and the State of Tennessee and would not change a thing for the blessings I have received,” Lea states in the release. Leas says he plans to spend time with family and focus on personal endeavors, according to the release. His last official day in office is June 10.
