MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Dozens of golf teams hit the green Friday to tee off for Camp Wings. Officials with Hospice of West Tennessee said the annual “Hittin’ For Hospice” golf tournament is one of the organization’s largest fundraisers. “By having all of these wonderful golfers and sponsors, it allows the children to come to camp free of charge,” said Pat Bard with Hospice of West Tennessee. The funds raised in the golf scramble tournament will be used to send 20 to 25 children to Camp Wings, a special three-day camp for children dealing with the loss of a loved one. “A lot of them can’t come up with the funds that it would take to come to camp for a weekend,” Bard said. She said the camp helps the kids through art, therapy and play time with other children. The camp is free of charge. For more information about the camp, call 1-800-286-5717.
