Union City school brings the ‘funk’ to TCAP tests
UNION CITY, Tenn. — Who says you can’t have a good time while studying? Mellany Warner, a Union City elementary teacher, wanted kids to enjoy this year’s TCAP with a little “Uptown Funk.” The teachers made their own version of the hit song, and their video premiered at the school’s pep rally. Teachers say the point behind it was to prepare the students for the testing in a fun way. They also wanted to stress the importance of the test in a way that would be memorable for the kids.
