JACKSON, Tenn. — All nine seats of the Jackson City Council are on the ballot. However, only three of them are contested. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News caught up to District 2 incumbent Johnny Dodd and his opponent, newcomer Corliss Mercer-Johnson. Each said what they hoped to accomplish if elected to represent portions of east, west and midtown Jackson. I hope to continue and support the people so the people can stay the course and we can continue the progress we’ve made over the past 16 years,” Councilman Johnny Dodd said. “I can reconnect this district with government, business, residents, and we can come and reinvest ourselves back in our community,” challenger Corliss Mercer-Johnson said. Thursday, WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News talks with District 3 candidates, incumbent Ernest Brooks II and challenger Robert Curlin.
