SOUTH JACKSON — Former Super Bowl cornerback Jabari Greer had his hands full on Friday. Before Greer’s first pitch at the Jackson Generals game, the former South Side standout returned to his old stomping grounds to speak to hundreds of students. “It’s incredible to see how it’s transformed, but it’s still the same. I think they may have taken down all of my championship plaques down,” laughed Greer. In September, Greer retired from the NFL. The decision has rewarded him with a lot more free time. “What I enjoy most about my retirement is time with my family,” said Greer. “I can really find out who Jabari Greer is and who God created me to be.” In addition to Greer’s first pitch at the Ballpark at Jackson, the first 500 fans received a bobble head of the former Hawk.
