Madison Co. deputies hope to return stolen property to owners

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Officials with the sheriff’s office are asking anyone who thinks their stolen property may have been recovered after an arrest this week in Beech Bluff to contact them. Deputies hope to return the stolen property — including items ranging from silverware to jewelry — to the rightful owners. If you think something stolen from you could have been recovered, call the sheriff’s office at 731-423-6000 and ask for Sgt. Mack Brown or Sgt. Alphonso Newbern, the investigators working the case. They will arrange to show the property. “A lot of people are concerned, because we’re getting calls not only from Jackson but from surrounding counties where these burglaries may have occurred,” said Tom Mapes with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The items were recovered after deputies responded to a burglary at a store in Beech Bluff. Mapes said among the recovered items are silverware, jewelry, keepsakes and heirlooms.
