BEMIS, Tenn. — Dozens in the Jackson area come out to celebrate the history of Bemis. W.S. Holland kicked off the 17th annual Bemis Heritage Festival Friday evening. More than 100 people came out to enjoy the sounds of the legendary drummer along with great food. Leaders with the Bemis Historical Society said this event is also a good chance for people not familiar with the area to learn more about the history of the former mill town in south Jackson. “If you have never been, you would be mixing with a lot of nice folks,” said Joel Jackson of the Bemis Historical Society. “Everybody is really friendly and are able to start a conversation with anybody.” Bemis Heritage Days will continue through Saturday until 3 p.m.
