Man accused of stealing car, scrapping it for cash
DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A suspected car thief accused of driving all the way to Selmer to scrap a car for cash appeared Monday in Jackson City Court. Willie Cooper was officially charged Monday morning with felony theft. Officers say back in March he stole a Toyota Camry from outside an apartment on Terrace Place. Last week, Jackson officers went to a scrapyard in Selmer and discovered evidence Cooper sold the car for cash in April. He currently is being held without bond.
