New Indictments In Bobo Case Released, Delays Possible

DECATURVILLE, Tenn.– A deeper look into new indictments handed down in the Holly Bobo case. Now Jason Autry, Zach Adams and Dylan Adams all face the same charges in holly’s kidnapping, rape and murder. Local Defense Attorney Daniel Taylor explains some of the reasoning possibly behind the new indictments. ” While a case is still pending it happens ever so often that the indictment might be changed or superseded,” Taylor said. Autry and Zach Adams originally charged with murder and kidnapping now face rape charges. On Tuesday, a Decatur County grand jury decided they had seen enough to back the prosecutions request for additional charges. “It is a probable cause finding, not a reasonable doubt standard,” Taylor said. Dylan Adams originally charged with raping Holly Bobo now stands on trial for first degree murder and especially aggravated rape. Taylor, a defense attorney at Spragins, Barnett and Cobb said there could be multiple pieces of evidence that led the grand jury to their decision. “I don’t know it could be lab reports, it could be summary of witness statements that the investigator reads out ,” Taylor said. Taylor said this is not unusual. It is something that happens when a prosecutor takes over a case. Which is what happened when Matt Stowe asked to be removed from the case last year and Jennifer Nichols from Shelby County was appointed the new prosecutor. Taylor said it is possible there is a correction in the previous indictments that had to be changed. That will now allow the prosecution to better plan their strategy, but Taylor said even more delays are likely. “The most important thing is that justice be served a trial is not just a speed race to get it hurried up and tried,” Taylor said. Taylor said now the defense will have a chance to file motions against the new charges if they feel its necessary. Jason Autry, Zach Adams and his brother Dylan Adams will all appear in court June 3. At that time they are expected to be arraigned on their charges.
