Stolen Hammer Used to Break Brownsville Wal-Mart Cell Phone Display

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. – Detectives are looking for two men caught on camera inside Wal-Mart on South Dupree Street who they believe broke a cell phone display case and took what was inside. The pair used a hammer from the store to smash the case that held cell phones, iPads, iPods and SIM cards worth about $10,000, according to police. Brownsville police arrived at the store Saturday morning about 3:30 to investigate. The two men left the store and headed toward Jefferson Street. One suspect is described as a black man who was wearing a reflective traffic vest with a red t-shirt and blue jeans and the other a black man who had a knit cap and a red shirt. Anyone with information that would help the Brownsville Police is asked to call them or Crime Stoppers at 731-772-CASH (2274).
