School system names new instructional leadership director

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Superintendent Verna Ruffin announced on Wednesday the appointment of Janice Epperson as instructional leadership director for the district, according to a release from the Jackson-Madison County School System. Epperson currently serves as principal at Madison Academic Magnet High School and has held the position for four years. The role of the instructional leadership director will include but not be limited to supervising, supporting and developing principals to set and attain high levels of student achievement, ensuring that every school has the benefit of exemplary leadership, the release states. While at Madison Academic, the school has been recognized as a Tennessee Reward School for two years in a row as well as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2014, according to the release.
