Final results revealed in Battle of Badges blood drive

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lifeline Blood Services announced the final donation numbers Wednesday for their Battle of the Badges blood drive. The Jackson Police Department came out on top with the most donations during the May 11-22 event, wrapping up with a total of 63. The group with the highest percentage of donors based on number of employees or number of people was the Emergency Management Agency. Coming in second with overall donations is the Madison County Fire Department with 52 donations, followed by the Jackson Fire Department with 46 donations. Rounding out the competition is the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency with 33 donations, The Tennessee Highway Patrol with 27, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with 21, Medical Center EMS with 16 and the Emergency Management Agency with eight. The official awards presentation is planned for June 25, the date of Lifeline’s All American blood drive. Lifeline Blood Services thanks each agency and everyone in the community for their participation and promotion of volunteer blood donations during the last two weeks.
