HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Henderson County deputies made a traffic stop on Interstate 40 that then led officers on a high-speed chase. According to investigators, Turante Nunn of Memphis was pulled over early Thursday morning for speeding on the interstate. After checking the vehicle’s registration, it was discovered the GMC Acadia Nunn was driving was reported stolen out of Shelby County. When asked to get out of the vehicle, deputies say Nunn took off and headed east. After leading deputies for miles on a high-speed chase, investigators said Nunn ended up in Lexington where officers caught up with him and the wrecked SUV on Crazy Doe Road. Nunn was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for possible injuries and released. He is being held in the Henderson County Jail and is facing charges of felony evading arrest and felony reckless endangerment. Nunn is scheduled for a court appearance June 2.
