Friday is ‘529 College Savings Day’

JACKSON, Tenn. — Friday is May 29, which means it’s 529 College Savings Day. A 529 is a tax-advantaged college savings plan sponsored by the federal government. But two-thirds of Americans admit they don’t even know what it is. A number of hospitals nationwide will give babies born on this day $529 toward college savings.
