Humboldt police seek suspect who fled after traffic stop

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Humboldt police are seeking a man in a Monday incident that left an officer injured. Markell Young, 23, of Humboldt is wanted on charges including two felonies after police tried to stop a car Monday evening on Warren Road, according to the Humboldt Police Department. Police say the car sped away as they approached, and one of the officers fired shots. Officers found the abandoned car a couple miles down the road, and the passenger was later taken into custody, police have said. Shan-torie Brown, 22, of Humboldt was cited with simple possession of marijuana after the incident and was released, police say. Young is charged with felony reckless endangerment, felony evading, second offense driving on a suspended license and other misdemeanor traffic offenses, according to police.
