DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man appeared Thursday in Jackson City Court on accusations of trying to hire a prostitute. Joshua Starks allegedly arranged Jan. 30 to meet an undercover officer at a Jackson hotel. Police say he provided money for sex when he arrived. Investigators with the Jackson Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force were conducting an operation targeting prostitution sales on the website www.backpage.com, according to an affidavit. Starks is free on a $2,000 bond.
