Chairman of Milan school board resigns

MILAN, Tenn. — The chairman of the Milan Special School District School Board resigned his position Friday. David Nelson’s resignation comes after the board approved a motion Wednesday to release Superintendent Mary Reel from her contract. Nelson cited additional responsibilities resulting from the recent changes along with family priorities as his reasons for stepping down. Nelson’s term was set to expire Dec. 31, according to the district’s website.
