Lane College in talks to bring Bennigan’s restaurant to east Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Officials with Lane College say they are in the final stage of negotiations to bring a Bennigan’s restaurant to east Jackson. It would be located at the intersection of F.E. Wright Drive and Whitehall Street and would be the first Bennigan’s in the state of Tennessee, according to a release from the school. Lane Community Development LLC, an independent holding company of Lane College, is in talks to acquire the franchise, the release states. Construction is expected to begin soon after the agreement is reached. Lane would be the exclusive operator of the restaurant, which also would serve as a learning lab for students, according to the release. “This business opportunity portends to be a major and significant event in the history of the college,” Lane College President Logan Hampton states in the release. Hampton also states the restaurant will serve the residents who live in a part of Jackson with few restaurants.
