Hawkins County couple arrested in assault of neighbor

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Hawkins County couple has been arrested for beating and stabbing a man who called police about a loud disturbance at their apartment next door.

The Kingsport Times News (http://bit.ly/1C2HEz3 ) reports the neighbor called the police twice Tuesday evening in Rogersville about a domestic disturbance. When the neighbor called police a second time, 33-year-old Johnny Allen Richards and 32-year-old Erin Brooke Lawson went his door and beat and stabbed him with a broken rake handle.

Richards and Lawson were arrested on aggravated assault charges.

Since 2001 Richards has been arrested 45 times on charges including burglary, theft, domestic assault, drug possession and public intoxication.

Lawson has been arrested 31 times on charges including drug trafficking, theft, domestic assault, stalking, and public intoxication.

It is unclear if either has a lawyer.
