Homeowner injured after vehicle crashes into residence

JACKSON, Tenn. — Neighbors stood around a home on Peabody Avenue in awe Sunday afternoon. A car backed into a home going all the way through a front room. “When I first pulled up on it I said, ‘Oh my God, Jesus, what is going on?’ and then I happened to see the car inside of the house and some people crowding around this lady,” one neighbor said. Family said the car was driven by a relative and the whole situation was an accident. The resident suffered minor injuries but neighbors said she could have been badly hurt. As the SUV was towed out of the home Sunday afternoon, neighbors said they were comforted by one another’s support. “Very scary, but to see all the community come together like they did was awesome,” neighbors said. No charges are expected to be filed at this time.
