Fred’s pharmacy may be victim of data breach

MEMPHIS — Fred’s is looking into reports that its pharmacy credit card system was hacked. The issue was raised after several banks reported fraudulent activity after customers shopped at Fred’s locations in Memphis. The company says an outside expert is examining the system. Experts say customers should keep a close eye on their bank statements. There is not yet word on whether any Jackson locations were affected.
