Morning fire damages east Jackson home

EAST JACKSON — A Tuesday morning fire heavily damaged an east Jackson home. The fire occurred around 10 a.m. at a home on Idlewild Street. No one was home at the time, and no one was injured, according to firefighters on scene. It took around 20 minutes to put out the fire. No flames were visible outside the home, but fire officials said the home probably will not be livable without extensive repairs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
