Men appear on charges of stealing, stashing TVs

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Two men were in Jackson City Court Thursday on charges of stealing two TVs and hiding them in a vacant home. Curtis Jackson is accused of breaking a window to enter a Belfield Cove home and stealing two flat-screen TVs from inside, according to court papers. The owner told police the TVs are worth about $1,000. Police say Jackson later broke into the back door of a vacant home on Barfield Cove in order to hide the TVs until they could be taken elsewhere and sold. Robert Lane is accused of picking up Jackson along with the stolen TVs and another man and taking them to the vacant home where the TVs were stashed, according to an affidavit. Jackson is charged with aggravated burglary, theft over $500, criminal trespass and vandalism. His bond is set at $15,000. Lane is charged with theft over $500. His bond is set at $7,500.
