JACKSON, Tenn. — A man charged in a bold theft of more than $100,000 worth of jewelry from a Jackson business was arraigned Thursday in city court. Lyle Wesley Andrews is accused of going into Little’s Jewelers on Vann Drive and using a large hammer to break two display cases before taking several pieces of jewelry and running from the store, according to an affidavit. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. June 3, and witnesses told them the man left in a silver Ford Ranger pickup truck. Officers located a similar truck in a nearby parking lot and found a hammer and shards of glass inside. When police contacted the registered owner of the truck, he told them Andrews had borrowed the truck earlier that day, according to the affidavit. Witnesses later identified Andrews from a photo lineup, the document states. Andrews is charged with theft over $60,000. He is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
