Lightning believed to have started Gibson Co. church fire

FRUITLAND, Tenn. — Firefighters were on the scene of a church fire late Tuesday night that is believed to have started from a lightning strike. According to Gibson County Central Dispatch, firefighters received the call around 9:45 p.m. of a fire at the Fruitland Presbyterian Church in the 60 block of Fruitland Road. When crews arrived, they found the church fully engulfed. No injuries have been reported, and the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
