BOLIVAR, Tenn. — A local lawmaker says he plans to introduce legislation to change the name of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park in Benton County. Rep. Johnny Shaw, a Democrat representing District 80 including parts of Hardeman and Madison counties, said he thinks it’s time for the park’s name to change. However, he said he does not have a new name in mind. Shaw plans to meet with members of his caucus next week and sponsor a bill to have the park renamed.
