DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A second man has been charged in the robbery of a Jackson store and appeared Thursday in city court. Deontae Hudson is accused of robbing a convenience store on Hale Street at gunpoint on Monday along with two other men. Police say he was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop on Summar Drive. Hudson and a second man are accused of being the gunmen while a third man is accused of entering the store during the holdup to held them with the robbery, according to court documents. The men are accused of taking the cash drawer along with cigarettes, cell phones and cash from the owner’s wallet. Police found a loaded handgun in the vehicle Hudson was riding in when he was arrested, according to an affidavit. Police say he has a previous felony conviction on an aggravated robbery charge in Madison County. Hudson is charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
