JACKSON, Tenn. — Gear heads in the Hub City brought their best cars to the Ballpark at Jackson Saturday afternoon. Around 500 people showed up to the “Down Shift Charity Car Show” put on by Hub City Speed. The car show featured cars of every size and model and even had an auto-cross competition. Hub City Speed said they hoped to raise $1,000 for the Generals Care Charity. Organizers said they’re glad they can bring something for car enthusiasts in the Hub City. “Basically everybody has to go to Memphis or Nashville for something big, and we wanted to start something here for Jackson that we have as our own to call our own and grow on it year to year,” said Ben Warren, founder of Hub City Speed. Hub City Speed had awards for a number of categories on the day, including a sound system competition. Organizers said they hope to make this a regular event.
