JACKSON, Tenn. — The Hub City has a new destination for frequent flyers. Air Choice One launched services out of McKellar-Sipes Regional airport Sunday. The St. Louis-based air carrier will offer flight services on its fleet of Cessnas, according to a release. “It’ll be a great benefit to the community,” pilot Emily Frasca said. “It brings more aviation here and easier access to the airport, easier travel.” Air Choice One replaces Seaport services and adds a new destination city for travelers — flights to St. Louis’ Lambert International Airport. “I think it’d be easier than going all the way to Georgia or Texas to get somewhere,” Flyer Hayden Lewis said. Pilot Sarah Demkovich said the new destination could allow for more spontaneous day trips for West Tennesseans. “The city of St. Louis has all kinds of transportation options, whether you’re flying to another city in the United States or out of the country or you just want to spend a day in St Louis. There’s transportation within the city.” Officials said the new destination could also mean the local economy will take off. In a previous interview with WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News, Jackson Chamber President/CEO Kyle Spurgeon said the new carrier could make Jackson more appealing. “This in and of itself will not cause anyone to locate here, but when we are working with new industry and certainly working with existing industry too, it’s just another sales tool for us,” he said. Flights will be offered seven days a week with special pricing through Sept. 20 of $35 for a one-way ticket.
