Man accused of trying to run over man on motorcycle

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man went before a judge Monday on charges of trying to use his van to run over a man on a motorcycle. William Sheffield allegedly admitted to trying to use his van Sunday to run over a man riding a Honda motorcycle, according to an affidavit. Police say Sheffield tried several times to hit the man by swerving into his lane, forcing the motorcycle off the roadway. Sheffield is charged with aggravated assault. He is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
