JACKSON, Tenn. — New details emerge in a Sunday shooting at an east Jackson apartment complex as the alleged gunmen appear in court. Joshua Burdine, Thomas Burdine and Isaiah Bumpass are accused of firing several rounds during the incident that occurred around 10:30 p.m. near an apartment complex at 33 Carver Avenue, according to an affidavit. Police say two men were fighting and another was trying to break them up when Joshua Burdine began firing a silver revolver. One of the men fled to the apartment complex, and Thomas Burdine and Bumpass are accused of then retrieving high-powered rifles and firing at a fleeing car, according to the affidavit. Witnesses told police Joshua Burdine then joined the other two men in the breezeway of an apartment building and continued to shoot at the car. After the shooting, Joshua Burdine and Bumpass were found hiding in one of the apartments where police also recovered a silver .22 caliber revolver, the document states. Officers recovered 12 shell casings in the breezeway where the men allegedly fired at the car. The three suspects are charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a firearm. They are being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond each.
