Cause of Gibson Co. church fire determined

FRUITLAND, Tenn. — State bomb and arson investigators have concluded a lightning strike is to blame for the June 23 fire that destroyed the Fruitland Presbyterian Church. Investigators said the steeple was struck around 8:30 p.m. but that no one noticed flames until two hours later.
