Crews fight fire at Lexington business; highway re-opened

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Crews are working an active fire at a Lexington storage unit business. Highway 412 in Lexington was temporarily shut down due to the fire at Beech Lake Storage, located at 771 West Church Street, according to the Lexington Fire Department. Police say the highway has been re-opened. No injuries have been reported. Fire crews had their water supply across the highway, and officials initially asked drivers to avoid the area. Police say there have been some explosions resulting from the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The call about the fire at the family-owned business came in just before noon, according to police.
