MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The county commission on Wednesday approved a contract for a new payroll system within the county. Commissioners voted to accept the contract with Tyler Technologies for a system they call a much needed upgrade. The commission says voting to outsource the IT help with the new software will prove financially sound in the long run. “The cost for us going online for the county would have been $818,000, so right off the first year we save $1,003,000,” said County Commissioner Ann Harrell. Commissioners say the new software will take anywhere from one year to a year and a half to be implemented county wide.
