Nashville police arrest man in fatal shooting at nightclub
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Nashville police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy inside a downtown nightclub.
Police said in a statement that 19-year-old Christian A. Evans was arrested late Tuesday on a charge of criminal homicide in the May 31 death of Brandon Williams at Club Kilimanjaro.
Police say they were called to the club and found Williams lying unresponsive on the dance floor. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
The statement says an investigation led to the development of Evans as a suspect and witnesses identified him during a photo lineup as the shooter.
Police say Evans was convicted days before the shooting of felony aggravated assault and received a three-year probated sentence.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Evans has an attorney.
