THP IDs woman killed in Haywood Co. I-40 wreck

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a Wednesday evening crash on Interstate 40. Dorothy Lee, 66, of Stanton was killed when the Ford Explorer in which she was a passenger struck the left rear side of a tractor-trailer just before 6 p.m. and ran off the roadway into the median near mile marker 64, according to a preliminary THP accident report. Lee was wearing a seat belt, according to the report. The report confirms the tractor-trailer was slowing down due to a fatal motorcycle accident near mile marker 66. The driver of the Explorer is listed as injured along with the one other passenger. The driver of the tractor-trailer is listed as not being injured.
