Two Grizz playing in first NBA game in Africa

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) revealed the full rosters for the first NBA game in Africa on Thursday. Two Memphis Grizzlies are featured on the World Team. Marc Gasol and Jeff Green will compete in the sold-out game in Johannesburg, South Africa. Also featured on the Team World Roster is Marc’s brother Pau Gasol. “When I heard about the NBA Africa Game I jumped at the chance to participate,” Pau said in the news release. “The continent of Africa has a special meaning for me through my Foundation. I look forward to putting on a great show for the fans and taking part in activities in the local community.” The Gasol brothers and several other NBA stars be coached by former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins. Five-time NBA Champion Gregg Popovich will coach Team Africa. The contest is scheduled for August 1 at Ellis Park Arena.
