Jackson General hospital receives award for heart attack treatment

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson-Madison County General Hospital has been honored for its high standard of care for heart attack patients, according to a release from West Tennessee Healthcare. The hospital received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry-GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2015. This is Jackson General’s second year in a row receiving the honor, the release states. The hospital is one of only 319 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor, according to the release. To receive the award, the hospital consistently followed the treatment guidelines in the ACTION Registry-GWTG Premier for eight consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 90 percent for specific performance measures, the release states.
