JACKSON, Tenn. — A man was in city court Wednesday on accusations of stealing property while his mother was out of town and then pawning the items. Barry Hodge is charged with theft of property under $500, according to court papers. His mother reported Monday that a 42-inch Troy-Bilt lawn tractor and a 32-inch flat-screen TV had been taken from her home while she had been out of town. She told police her son had pawned the items at a local business. When officers searched Hodge’s pawn ticket history, they confirmed he had pawned the lawn tractor on July 6 and the TV on June 29, according to the affidavit. The judge set Hodge’s bond at $1,000.
