McNairy County holds special needs prom

SELMER, Tenn. — Dozens joined in the first-ever special needs prom Saturday in McNairy County. Nicky Atkins said he wanted to plan the event to reach out to a group of young people who sometimes get overlooked. The event was complete with a DJ, food and memorable dances. Atkins said it was a night to remember, and in the coming months two families will get to attend a special needs theme park in Texas with all expenses paid.
