Three charged in Union City break-in

UNION CITY, Tenn. — A recent early morning break-in at a Union City home lands three men in jail on burglary charges. Antwon Cotton, Vernon Cotton and Kendhal Warren all are charged with burglary in the July 14 break-in. The residents of the home told police they returned around 1:30 a.m. to find the back door had been forced open, according to a report from the Union City Police Department. When they entered the home, they encountered two men inside, one of whom they recognized at Vernon Cotton, according to the report. The residents told police Cotton had both hands held up as if he were pointing a pistol at them but that they did not know whether he had a gun. The victims fled the home and then saw the two men exit the home, jump a fence and run north, the report states. Items reported stolen from the home include TVs, an Xbox 360, a MacBook Pro, a set of golf clubs and other property, according to the report.
