Man drowns in 2nd death at river bluff in past 2 months
LACEY’S SPRING, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say a man who drowned in the Tennessee River is the second person in the past two months to die in an accident at Lewis Bluff.
Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn identified the man who died Monday as 20-year-old Andrew Harrison. Chunn said drowning was the cause of death. Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin said Harrison had been living in Decatur temporarily but has a permanent address in Pulaski, Tennessee.
The Decatur Daily reports (http://bit.ly/1OBrtPY) that a Madison County man died June 21 after falling an estimated 80 feet from Lewis Bluff. Authorities said 22-year-old Gregory Peters, of the New Hope area, died of his injuries shortly after he was taken to a hospital emergency room.
Lewis Bluff is on the Tennessee River in the Lacey’s Spring area.
