Woman charged in Walmart thefts after arrest of other suspect

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman went before a judge Thursday after being linked to a June 8 shoplifting incident at Walmart in south Jackson, according to court papers. Britney Cole is accused of loading totes with merchandise at Walmart on South Highland Avenue along with another woman and then leaving the store without paying, according to an affidavit. The value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at $7,339, the document states. The other woman police say was involved in the thefts, Netanya Noonan, was arrested July 26 in a similar shoplifting incident, according to the affidavit. Police say she gave consent for them to search her cell phone and that they were then able to identify Cole as the suspect. Cole was arrested and admitted to her involvement in the June 8 thefts, the affidavit states. Cole is charged with theft of property over $1,000. Her bond is set at $30,000.
