Woman faces prostitution charge after sting

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman was in city court Wednesday on a prostitution charge resulting from a recent sting. Ashley Scruggs faces a count of prostitution after a July 30 operation targeting subjects advertising prostitution on the Internet, according to an affidavit. Police say they responded to an ad and made contact with a woman later identified as Scruggs. Scruggs arranged to meet an investigator at a Jackson residence where she would exchange sex for money, the document states. Her bond is set at $2,000.
