Deputies ID man accused of trying to leave crash scene

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies identify a man they say tried to run away after being in a near head-on collision Friday near Milan. Cypriano Doaks, 23, is charged with DUI, burglary of a motor vehicle and fleeing the scene of an accident, according to the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Paul Thomas said Friday Doaks was driving one of the vehicles involved in a crash on Highway 187. In an attempt to flee, Doaks got in the bed of a pickup truck that had stopped for help, the sheriff said. He fled on foot and was arrested after a short chase, according to Thomas. Doaks is free on a $6,000 bond.
