SAVANNAH, Tenn.-The puppies trapped in a storm drain in Hardin County have been rescued. Police were first called to the drain early Wednesday morning when residents heard barking. After working with animal services, the final dog was rescued Thursday night and is ready for adoption. Two of the other puppies were shipped to Chicago at a shelter there to be adopted. Hardin County Animal Services said they are still working on preparing the mother for adoption. “The momma dog is still here and she’ll be assessed once she calms down. She is a feral dog and she’s not very receptive to people yet,” said Charlie Nickle with Hardin County Animal Rescue Anyone interested in adopting the dogs can contact Hardin County Animal Services at (731) 925-3303.
