Chattanooga women to host defending national champion UConn

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – Chattanooga will host defending national champion Connecticut on Nov. 30 as part of its 2015-16 women’s basketball schedule.
The Mocs released their schedule Tuesday.
Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma and Chattanooga coach Jim Foster have a long friendship that dates to when Auriemma began his career as an assistant on Foster’s staff at St. Joseph’s.
This will mark the second time Chattanooga has hosted a reigning national champion. Tennessee won 66-63 at Chattanooga during the 2008-09 season after winning the 2008 title.
Chattanooga’s 2015-16 schedule also features games at Tennessee on Nov. 23 and at Stanford on Dec. 28.
Chattanooga went 29-4 and earned a third straight NCAA tournament berth last season. The Mocs’ season included home victories over Tennessee and Stanford when both were ranked in the top 10.
